03 December 2005

How are everone's weekend going? Mine's going OK. [More:] I saw my gay ex in a play last night, and got a pep talk from one of his friends about working through having feelings for your gay ex ("Every gay man has a girl like that! You just have to work through it, because you're both worth it")- oddly enough, it really did make me feel better. This morning I got woken up early by the dog and went to get my hair trimmed. It's, um, a little shorter than I wanted. But it's just hair right?? It'll grow back, right?? Riiiiight. Good thing I'm going to have lunch with people I haven't seen since high school in an hour! Ahhhh, good times.
But what are the rest of you up to?

This will be the first Saturday in...I don't know how long that I won't be working. I expect it to be a very enjoyable day.

Woo woo! I remember that first Saturday not working in a long time. Sooooooo nice.

I'm just waiting for noon so I can start drinking.

I have a gay ex, too. Maybe we can hook our gay ex's up and they can make gay babies.

I remember that first Saturday not working in a long time.

Yeah. When I was in retail, customers would always say "have a nice weekend!" and I'd want to slap the shit out of them. Having actual two day weekends is so nice.

I got woken up by my little boy turning over and popping me one in the face with his cute and wee but still pretty strong and painful little fist. Of course, he was happy to see me awake and proceeded to bash his head against mine.

But I had a damned good week of work this week (read that, BONUS!) so its all good.

I'm thinking about going to the shooting range and popping some caps later.

Gay babies!! Woot woot.

Alright, off to lunch with high school pals. Keep talking amongst yourselves; I will read about what you're all doing when I get back.

Get that kid on the speed bag! What's he, about a welterweight?

Today, some errands and I'm hoping to sneak in a nap to make up for this. Then several hours of providing 'culinary delights' (not my phrase) to the beautiful people of the Bay Area and beyond. After that, off to the first of my fellow Sag's birthday parties. It's an 80's costume dealie-o and I plan to go as an Urban Cowgirl because it is imperative that I wear these as often as humanly possible.

Tomorrow, I hope to sleep in, get some modular furniture-y things from the Container Store, so at long last, my room will cease to resemble a dorm in a tornado. Then, a bunch of us are off the Harry Potter flick at the IMAX. Beer and pub silliness to follow.

I'm going downtown to play Scrabble with cmonkey, and the weather forecast is quite positive it's going to snow today. If it does, that would be very exciting. I might go to Powell's and buy a book or two.

I went to the Apple Store opening in Fukuoka, and waited two hours for a free t-shirt. I don't know why I never imagined they could all be size M...

But I did get bagels. (^_^) and saw the coolest Christmas Cake ever. Of course I thought it was completely bizarre at first, but then I remembered we didn't really do "Christmas Cake" in the States, so why the hell NOT have GIANT DUELING JAPANESE BEETLES for Christmas?? [well, ok, the $53 price tag will be why not]

So, I have tired feet, am a little cranky about standing in line for so long for a shirt that I can't wear in public (don't ask why I felt compelled to be one of those 1,000, I have no idea, but someone should have told Apple that people in Kyushu like to eat...), but I am in the midst of birthing a new holiday tradtion involving giant beetles, mini Santa hats and lots of chocolately goodness.

Oh, and Mr. Nez joined me on my silly quest and we're still talking. (^_^)

I got to sleep late!! yeay! And so did Perle obviously. ;)

in short, it's going fab! weeee! sleep - even better than free tee's and the shooting range. you'll understand this when you've been properly deprived of it.. hehe

I'm halfway through my weekend and im currently celebrating jon's birthday. Ive been sorting out my pics from my trip up the country earlier this week and listening to some new music. i have some writing to do, but my mind is elsewhere, last night, with an awesome man meets woman confrontation i had.

Tomorrow, maybe watching the new Narnia film that got a huge rave review from the Guardian.

And maybe a curry.

And some buying of new mixing paraphenalia :)

uws, the words 'awesome' and 'confrontation' used in close proximity, generally bring to mind images along the lines of 'Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.' I'm hoping that your description is more positive than ironic!

I slept in after a very busy week. It's cold and grey here, I've just made a pot of tea and I'm going to read a book.

I'm working through the second day of my hangover from Thursday night and planning on never leaving the house again.

I went dancing last night... then to an afterparty, got in around eight am. Just now getting moving for the day.
Interesting night. My current crush did not go. But two former crushes were paying bizarre amounts of attention to me.
Lots of good music. Danced for ages. So much fun. And today? All the fun and excitment a trip to Aldi and laundry can bring me.

I've never been to a dance club or an afterparty. This is probably a good thing. My sartorial style would probably stop me at the door, and the DJ would probably get sick of me yelling "Play some Skynyrd, man!"

I just ate a giant fried catfish po-boy. Mmmmmm. Now it's time for a nap.

I'm alone because mr. taz is out of town working, but I feel fine and happy and snug and cozy. I've been drinking wine, and pretty soon I'm going to have some totally spectacular soup I made last night...

Also, I'm laughing because I just looked at the Greek TV guide and found that "Fucking Amal" (Swedish) is on at midnight, and the Greek re-titling is "Show Me Love"... or maybe "Show Me, Love". Anyway.

Now, I'm bored and pips has to grade papers, so I'm gonna finish my beer, then go do laundry. I'll spend my dry cycle here. Hopefully my birthday will result in me getting some free drinks. Any astorian MeCha's can buy me a drink. I'll be the skinny guy in flannel. I'll leave in about 30 minutes.

Insomnia. Two hours sleep last night, hour nap that just ended. Because, you know, Eleanor of Aquitane (sp) just might be bothered by a dog chewing a bone. I've been washing things. Dishes, clothes and towels (machines did those), and the dog (manually).

I also went early early early shopping, and I have a show tonight.

Overall? Meh. But nice to be here.

I'm floating around this morning on the leftover vibes from some nice attention I got from *my* crush. Later I'm going to go to the Seattle MeFi/MeCha meetup at the Sunset bowling alley and celebrate jonmc's birthday by proxy.

Awake after another absurdly long sleep. I don't know why I keep doing that...I think my body is rebelling after a particularly stressful semester. Argh. I had things I wanted to get done today, too. In a bit, I have to go get dressed for the performance (!) of the scene I directed and then haul some serious ass to make it to DC in time for a fancy-pants dinner reservation. It should be a fun and eventful night. :) (Happy Birthday, Jon.)

I just got back the laundry/the bar. I fulfilled on e of my lifelong fantasies and bought a round for the house. Thankfully there were only two other guys there, Larry (an aging biker type) and George(a Greek dude who looks like Antonio banderas if Antonio was missing several teeth and didn't shave regularly). Apparently next friday they're having an Xmas party with a buffet and an open bar. Party, ahoy!

I don't remember much between 3:30 and 5:00 AM this morning, but apparantly I punched my S.O. in the balls. I do remember eating some Ramen (good) and playing that video game where you roll that dude around and his ball picks up stuff (confusing). I'm really regretting not going to bed at 3:30.

Today I'm watching the UCLA-USC game. Maybe I'll stay in tonight.

Heh. I just walked out of tango class because the freak they paired me up with smelled bad and got a woody. I think he might have had fewer teeth than your Antonio buddy, jon... happy birthday, btw.

"Keep your distance, SIR!"
"But we're supposed to be close."
*rubrubrubrubrub*
"Well, I've had QUITE enough of this."
*walkwalkwalkwalk*
"Where you runnin' off to?"
"Social obligations."
*slam*

"Social obligations" in this instance means a hot shower to remove his stank off me and a bottle of merlot, to, er remove his stank off me.

I was at a VBA class that met from 8:30 - 3:30. So I got up early and was inside all day. Yesterday, I was up late, as I was picking my girls up (one from a high school dance, the other from a friend's house), so I got *really* tired, and felt my cold starting to revive. Everyone else is out tonight, and I'm too awake to sleep, but too sleepy to do much of anything (other than check out metachat!)

My father-in-law died last Saturday. The mister and I flew out Tuesday to Toronto. Got back just before 7pm tonight. It's been a rough week, of course, and I'm extremely happy we're home.
