L.A. Through Vintage Postcards A collection of vintage Los Angeles postcards.
Tangent: I always thought a great film festival would be "Images of LA". I'd show Barton Fink, Chinatown, and perhaps LA Story.

Hey, Lee Jay, thanks. I gre up in Orange County, so it's great to see all those old pics. I sent the links to my mom & she remembers when it looked pretty similar. Since it's changed so much, I really enjoy being able to see what it was when she was a kid.

Also, I remember the last time the restaurant at the end of this pier fell into the ocean in a storm. I think it fell in three or four times altogether. The menus washed up on shore for weeks. Now there's a new pier.

Was it open and operational when it fell into the pier? I mean, were there customers inside?

No. I think it was at night. Besides, it fell in because of storm waves, so no one would have been out there anyway. Here is a link about all the times storms did the pier in.

LeeJay, I'm a total postcard freak. Thanks for this -- I've bookmarked it for later.

Thanks, LeeJay. I also grew up in Orange County. Sent the link to all the applicable family members.
