29 November 2005

Grandma got run over by a reindeer sung by Metachat bunnies! It doesn't matter if you can't sing. Neither can I.[More:]

  1. Choose the line that you want to sing. Post the line number here.
  2. Record yourself singing your line and email it to the address in my profile (attachment or Yousendit).
  3. If it helps, start singing a few lines before; I can always cut the extra bits out.
  4. You can use this MIDI file to help you get the timing right
  5. I've set up an Audioblogger account you can use if needs be. Email me (address in profile) for the number and PIN.
  6. Send your files before 17th December.
oh boo! can someone fix that for me?

You mean make it more inside?

This is such a cool idea! Do I dare? There's no sound more disagreeable to the human ear than the sound of me singing.

Right on, flopsy - you ran with it! It's silly how much I love this song.

iconomy, you could always do it a characterized spoken voice. So long as you have the timing down, it wouldn't make a difference.

I think this is one of those songs that is actually less irritating if sung badly.

I volunteer for line 12. I would be singing into my MP3 player... hopefully that's a mic of sufficient quality.

I'll do line one (and two, too, if we need the voices).

Great silly project, flopsy. Thanks for taking it on!

Thanks iconomy. You must - however bad you think you are, you can't possibly be as bad as me.

What if you're not entirely sure how the whole song goes? Should you just stick to parts you know, or sing another part as well as you can? (Not well at all.)

Oh, there's a midi file. I'm lame. Nevermind.

Has anyone got line 27? I can do that one!

I'll take line 21 [21 playing cards with Cousin Mel] in honor of my late cat Mel. I have no mike so I'll need the audioblogger (email to follow).

P.S. I can take lines 19-21 (complete sentence) if there are not enough people.

Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer (MP3) if you don't know how it goes. I'd never even heard of the song til Frisbee mentioned it.

P.P.S. Please make sure that PinkStainlessTail knows about this.

I wanna do the 28/29 couplet. As Shatner.

Would it be a good idea to have everyone sing the chorus, and then edit it together in to one massive cacophony? No, it probably wouldn't.

41/42?
posted by Capn 29 November | 12:13
I'll take 10 as well... maybe flopsy could take 9, and then we'd be a sort of counterpoint?
posted by selfnoise 29 November | 12:56
I'll have to get involved in this! I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to record but I'll have a crack at a chorus and you can take what you want from it.

I'd like to volunteer for chorus duty as well, thanks!

Line 36 please.

Stand by for email.

I'll take line seven, but I won't be able to send anything until this evening at the earliest.
posted by PinkStainlessTail 30 November | 12:44
I'll do 25/26. It'll have to be tomorrow when it's quiet here.

*gulp*
