Bruce Dickinson "Tattooed Millionaire" [More:]The former lead vocalist of Iron Maiden, we always knew he had on of Heavy Metal's best voices, but who'd've thunk he had this in him? One of the most angry rips into the idea of rock stardom ever concieved. Killer chorus, too.
THE bruce dickinson?!?

Thanks Jon, I've never actually heard any of Dickinson's post-Iron Maiden efforts. And, in fact, I won't until I get home. But be assured it will receive my full attention then.

Goddamnit. I'm on dial-up. Sheesh. But, ah, playing the instrumental "Children Of The Damned" refrain in our Barracuda/Clash City Rockers/Gloria medley was worth it. High school rocked at that particular moment. Rocked hard. 13 minutes remaining...

nomis, if you've never heard Accident of Birth and The Chemical Wedding (and you like Dickinson to begin with), you've got a big treat coming. Absolutely brilliant, dark, complex albums - better than anything Maiden's done since the eighties. Here's one barnstormer from Chemical, but it's a very diverse album, well worth checking out. I may be a simple wolfdog but few things give me as much unalloyed happiness as hearing the air-raid siren deliver a big "Whoa-oh-oh".

I saw the last two shows on the Accident of Birth tour, and it was a blast; at maiden shows Bruce has usually been very aloof, even arrogant toward the crowd, but at the last Accident show he actually gave my friend the mic to sing the chorus of "The Prisoner" -- and for some reason, grabbed the glasses off his head and wore them around stage for a while. At one point Roy Z. was also playing his guitar with a banana; they were just having a great time on stage and that's always the best kind of show.

And here's one from his most recent album that's more in line with Tattooed Millionaire - pure pop rock, with a catchy ever-so-slightly melancholy chorus.
