Prairie Lights Airblown World
Set in scenic Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie, these one of a kind, lighted displays will feature all of the traditional holiday characters plus Snoopy, Mickey Mouse, Sponge Bob, NCAA mascots, and many more!

What could be more festive than 700-plus inflatable yard decorations set up in the Texas desert? (I chuckle, but I'd also seriously go see this if it was near me.)

I hate Christmas.

It's not a desert.

Well, so far this is going up like a lead yard inflatable. :D

kmellis, I think it'd be cool if it WAS in the desert. Hopefully it's at least a prairie? (Given the town name and all...)

To a lifelong Georgian, of course, any place without kudzu, moss, and noseeums is a desert.

Nope, no prarie. A lake. In the hills. Not very interesting.

Is that before or after the 700-plus yard decorations were added?

Before. Although I haven't seen said decorations, so who knows? They could suck. Or I could just be bitter. :)

So this is the Grinch thread? jeepers folks

I've seen it before, and it is indeed quite a sight. I've always wondered how they had the electrical supply to keep all the lights running.

gp is basically dallas for non-texans. but so what? this sort of thing is always fun. i might go; i like bombing up and down i-35. the christmas light thing here in austin's fun, too. last winter it was bitterly cold (for tx, okay, okay) when we went, and they had cut big old pits in zilker park for bonfires.
good times.
suck it, grinches. x-mas is probably the third most awesomest of holidays. maybe fourth, if you happen to have friends whose family put on an annual 20 grand fireworks show for the fourth of july.

Central Texas does have some awesome light shows. I remember as a kid making the rounds...there's the one at Zilker Park, there used to be one just south of Austin on 35 and I seem to remember one out towards Bee Caves somewhere.

Good times. But then in Baltimore, we do have Christmas Street.

haha, my family hits this up every year, and my mom has volunteered there a few times. The inflatables are a new addition, it used to just be "Prairie Lights" sans "Airblown World".

Joe Pool is a local attraction, and until recently my family had a boat slip there. It's an ok lake. And grand prairie is pretty much just that. It's mainly plains and rolling hills. It's not a bad place, but it's not very exciting either.

It's nice to see a post about my hometown.

Grand Prairie is Dallas for people that hate Dallas
