Do you love Lite Brite? →[More:]

Is this the coolest lamp ever? I can't stop looking at it and thinking about making one.

Also, this is what I'm asking Santa to bring me for Christmas. It will have to be custom made out in his workshop, which is more commonly known as my garage.

Yep I think the shade was painted. I'll bet a paper shade would work, altho you might have to hot glue the pegs in the holes. I am so making one of these. I even already have a black shade! Now I just have to get some pegs. eBay, here I come.

I remember having a Lite Brite. We would lose the pegs in the shag carpeting and my dad would step on them and raise holy hell. Thus we were forbidden to play with our Lite Brite. (They also sounded great when vacuumed).

Same thing happened when we couldn't be trusted with the Play-do. You know. Left the caps off and mixed em up and shit.

Now, I'm sitting at my desk singing "Lite Brite. Lite Brite. Turn on your magical colored lights."

Definitely with the Alphabits. I'm sure we did with Lite Brite. That said, with four kids, my mother invented new words for us so others wouldn't know what we were actually saying. Nice. We were always up to no good.

Nope, I got mine ;) What are you going to make? I'm thinking you bid on the pegs before you even saw the lamp, so you want to either make the table, or just have some lite brite stuff to play with?

Yeah, I'm not sure what I'm making but the table looked pretty cool. I sort of forgot about Lite Brite. As soon as I saw that table though, I knew I needed to get some. I'll probably make something for my son. He's three months old so he really likes colors. Maybe some sort of mobile.
