Cleaning How do I get burned chocolate off an enamel fondue pot. Also, check out my fondue pot!
Barkeeper's Friend is a gentle abrasive cleaner. I use it on my pans for stuck food. Make a paste and rub it gently on the burned chocolate.

I love the pot! I have an avocado green fondue pot with mushrooms on it. (Sorry, no cleaning advice, just admiring the pot.)

Word.

I'd let it soak in hot soapy water for awhile to soften and loosen the chocolate before trying the Barkeeper's Friend or similar mild cleaner.

That pot belongs in the mushroom thread.

Your pot is awesome.

Two surefire ways to get rid of the scorched mess:

1. Pour half a cup of vinegar on it and let it soak for about an hour, then try to gently scour, gently being the operative word.

2. Pour about 2 cups boiling water into it, and add a dryer sheet to it. Yeah, weird, but it softens *everything*, not just your clothes. It really works.

Or, boiling water and a handful of baking soda. Allow to cool, scrub gently.

Also, check out my fondue pot!

That is the fondue pot that every store should be selling now, instead of those chocolate fountain things which seem to suddenly be everywhere.

chocolate fountain things

Jeebus wept.

Anyhoo, using a few applications of boiling water and baking soda, I got it to the point where I could chip it off with a spoon.

Thanks Specklet, and thanks to everyone else who offered a solution, but baking soda is what I had on-hand.
