Enough of this napping shit! We need some loud drinking music on this post-holiday afternoon. So, here's a live (in Cork, Ireland, no less) Thin Lizzy doing "Whiskey In The Jar." (note: the "Midge," referred to in the intro is none other than Midge Ure from Ultravox, there's a dude who covered a lotta musical ground).
I just made a run to the corner store for chips, peanuts, junior mints, mini-donuts, ciagrettes and another 6-pak of bud. and I'm still unbathed in my jammy pants. Also, in the hallway there's a tub of my landlord's son's stuff in the hallway, including a basketball signed by Walt "Clyde" Frazier. I stopped to salaam.
you're in awe of mini-donuts? the South Asian gentleman behind the counter (this is the place)didn't blink an eye, but he's prolly used to drunk-assed Americans coming to the counter with similar payloads.
well, if it's any consolation, we have corner store armed robberies and heroin addicts panhandling outside to go with it...
Hmm. We get to choose between idiots screaming, "GIT 'ER DONE!! HAR HAR HAR" and plastic Truman Show/Stepford Wives pod people all driving the same SUV.
Still. It'd be nice to call the mrs. on the way home..."..ok, parmesan, cream, romaine, shrooms, got it. be there in a couple blocks." *sigh*

You should hear the local meatheads at my corner bar when there's a football game on. They put any rednecks on earth to shame with their cursing at the screen...
..and romaine is hard to find in Astoria. It's a Greek neighborhood, spinach is where it's at here. Romaine is easy to find in SoHo ad places like that.
