ex-pat non-thanksgiving, with wine. Well, I'm still feeling thankful, and I actually do feel that way most of the time, but today was kind of anti-thanksgiving, because:

1) not in U.S. Not with my family.
2) big, big film festival going on right now, here... and today's the first day of the big, big, blowout bracketed-weekend part of it... and my husband is in this industry, so it's definitely not even at all possible to have a private ex-pat celebration.
3) Also, since it's the big film festival, it means we have friends from Athens who have come, and are staying with us, which means that I've had to spend the
whole day cleaning house... AND I HATE HOUSE-CLEANING. VERY.

5) But the upside is that I did a whole lot of nasty grunge cleaning that I would otherwise have put off for a million years, and the friends came, and they are delightful...
6) It's also nice that they have now all left for a midnight showing, so I am gloriously alone for four or five hours - at least. (Post-party big-time for them after the film).
plus...
7) There's still some wine left, and some cigarettes... So, all in all, I'm rather grateful - because that's pretty unusual.
So I guess I end up kind of giving thanks, even on my unthanksgiving.
