Little Presents: I just realized I haven't read Dinosaur Comics in weeks! I'm really going to enjoy going through the backlog. I love little unexpected presents like that. How 'bout you?
I'm very happy for you! In a totally non-snarky way.

I can't really come up with anything that is like a little present like that, but I did open my Christmas present from my mom today. Does that count?

Hearing Jingle Rock Bell was a nice unexpected present!

Yesterday I was telling a woman at work that I was determined to learn how to knit or crochet so I could make myself a pair of fingerless gloves, partly because I love them and partly because my hands are always cold, and I could wear them at work yet still type and write. At work, there's a board in the workroom for people to leave us notes or whatnot. When I went in this morning, next to my name, there was a pair of fingerless gloves pinned to the board. She knit them for me last night. Totally blew me away. I'm wearing them right now. See?

A MetaChatter gave me an unexpected present yesterday that made my heart overflow: cash to help me buy tickets to go see my grandfather for his 90th birthday.

And I don't even know this person that well, just from this site.

I am undone at this gesture of kindness and keep tearing up at my desk.

This blog via a MonkeyFilter post. I'd seen the Ig Nobel page before but somehow missed the blog.

Newsfilter: Oroville houseboat considered a superload. || H'okay, who would like to help me eat a 20 pound bird?
