Mouseover Pretention... Mousing over user names now seems to just show the names, rather than numbers. I applaud this innovation. No more looking to see how much older, wiser, and more mature you are than someone else.

though I do this routinely on metafilter

see. that's a much better approach. change things without warning. i remember how the new metachat look went live without a hint, and the pleasant surprise thereafter. good on'ya dodgy

There were numbers?
I do it all the time at the Meff, though...not sure why...trying to get some sort of handle on the person's awareness or something. But my 3-digit number suggests a longevity that really isn't true regarding commentary anyways.

On that other site, the dark blue one, I look down on 20+kers. They are so young and naive... everything is handed to them on a plate... they don't know what it is to anxiously wait for the day you can comment as one of the Elite. Not like us 18kers, we know our place.
