What a great expletive! It's naughty, but not obscene, like "fuck my mother!" or blasphemous like "god fucking damn it".

We encountered this giant beach ball while travelling through Spain. You can find the ball in Barcelona, in the Barceloneta district, near the beach.

Examination of Witness (Questions 1460-1467)

PROFESSOR BALLS

TUESDAY 19 MARCH 2002

1460. And that is not a good way of assessing the benefit.
(Professor Balls) Yes.

1461. But is it not quite often the case that scientists say, on this occasion it is nothing to do with animals particularly, for example "We do not know how the stem cells differentiate this so we must use stem cells in order to find out more and when we find out more we may know if we can use it." There are areas of ignorance of both human and animal development.
(Professor Balls) I had the privilege of serving on the Committee when you were the Chairman, quite a long while ago now.

1462. Yes.
(Professor Balls) I think it is a matter of judgment really. I think there are certain procedures which are not allowed even though they might possibly yield benefits because they are considered too extreme, and I think that is good. The Home Office has a very good record in terms of limiting what is done.
