Great balls of fire! It's Taurid time again.[More:]
I saw my first fireball during the Taurids 4 years ago. While nowhere near as copious as the Leonids in August and often hindered by fall weather (here in North America), Taurids move at a slower speed, often producing longer, brighter and more spectacular 'shooting stars'. A definite bonus for those of us who are city folk.
and I promise that this'll be my last post for awhile.

I often get to see the yearly Leonids display. Taurids, however, always happen above the clouds and rain. I take it on faith that they occur.

Holy shit, there was no Wikipedia article on the Taurids.

Now there is. :)

(Cool because they may have been responsible for both Stonehenge, and the Star of Bethlehem.)
