Open warfare in the Senate. Harry Reid, the democratic leader, invokes a little-used rule to clear the gallery, lock the doors, and move the Senate into closed session. The topic: pre-war Iraq intelligence. Bill Frist, caught flat-footed, labels the move a stunt and a "slap in the face". Oh, snap!
Give 'em hell, Harry!

Balls! Yay!

If the repugs whine enough maybe this'll even steal some headlines from Alito. /wishfulthinking

Meanwhile, maybe Roberts won't just be Bush's lapdog after all.

Bill Frist? Isn't he about to get busted for insider trading? Why would he be opening his big stupid mouth now? Oh, that's right, because he's a freakin' idiot!

What purpose is served by clearing the room? Aside from making Bill Frist look like more of a moron than he is.

More media interest on the pre-war intelligence is a good thing.

danostuporstar, we can only hope that he didn't sign his soul over to Shrubya upon his confirmation. This is a good start, now where's that form I need to fill out to become a religious movement?

woot! (and it was brilliant to take away attention from Bush's Scalito diversion, and put it back where it belongs--the war and the lies)

"What purpose is served by clearing the room?"

This is about intelligence, so I imagine some secrets may be bandied about. Although actually, this is about the Republicans' lack of intelligence, so maybe the Demo's were showing a bit of class.

It just felt good to see the Repubs "caught flat-footed" for a change. Frist's reaction was something to the effect that he wouldn't be able to trust Reid anymore. So in essence they're even now.
