30 October 2005

Big Ole Halloween Saturday Night I drank some beer, watched two movies and went to bed. What did y'all do? [More:] My son is home for the weekend, a friend came over, I made burritos, they played America's Army, which is scary all by itself, and we watched Uzumaki and Dr. Phibes Rises Again, my tape complete with early 90s Baltimore TV commercials. I love, love, love me some Dr. Phibes.
Jesus, goatdog. I'm not scared of clowns but you're very, very scary (as a clown).

I'm seeing my post at the top of the comments. It should be the last comment. Unless I'm waaaay off,

I wanted nothing more than to come to your partay but was home sick... but I'm going to drink a beer now for the hell of it (alas, not PBR!)

Man, it was a nice party too, you would have had a good time. I'm sorry you're sick! I went to that Asheville bloggers thingie last night - it was nice, mellow & low key - & they want me to cohost a Drinking Liberally weekly political drunkfest deal & I said okay, as long as I was in charge of wisecracks and didn't have to demonstrate any actual political knowledge.

I just sent you an email --- I'll totally be your slave at the Drinking Liberally thing!

I was a clown at my theater, where we showed Bride of Frankenstein and Dracula's Daughter.

Goatdog, I love you dearly, but you make a freaky-ass clown.

I cleaned the bathroom. As in, scrubbed between the tiles with a bottle of bleach and a toothbrush.

Yes, I am living the rock 'n roll dream.

Watched the scary-enough The Abyss with my nephew.

The Abyss? Isn't that a happy-go-lucky fantasy movie?

I cleaned, did laundry, and even scrubbed a toilet. Then my GF and I played a bunch of games on her new-used-eBay Gamecube, including Super Mario Sunshine, which is pretty cool. (Yeah, we're behind the curve. It's cheaper that way. Heck, I still play the N64, and occasionally hook up the old NES machine.)

Hopefully tomorrow we slay the pumpkin. I'm still figuring out what I want to carve in it, or if I just want to go freehand grotesque.

I went to sleep at about 6:30pm or so, got up at about 7 am this morning - NEW time. Talk about a stiff back. I think I had enough sleep though.

Stood line for nearly two hours to ride a miniature haunted train [pdf].

I had a party, but have been scatterbrained and forgot to invite most of the people I expected to come, so ended up with only one of my friends. We had two kids visit, and I taught a bunch of guys how to carve pumpkins. It was fun, but I should probably do some kind of checklist for next year (Item #1: invite people). We had real American pumpkins, and the guys really enjoyed scooping out the guts. We also did fun photos with a scene painted by a visiting artist (my mother).

We were supposed to have a party. But one of our idiot friends (well, more probably his wife) decided to throw a first birthday party for his kid the same day and invite all the same people we did. We ended up cancelling our party (even though our invitations went out like a full month before theirs did).

Wrath will be suffered. Biblical-style rossi wrath.

Anyway, we ended up going barhopping with my sister and BIL, which we rarely get to do. So, it was a fun night afterall.

Went to a huge Halloween party, till the fire alarms in the building went off. After party at my place, then we celebrated The Hour That Never Existed somewhere else (that's a little fuzzy)... Yeah, I'm a little fuzzy.

Haha, DST makes this thread funny.
