Minutes away from just quittin'. But fuck it, I'll maintain; someday I'll be hittin'.
I've 'just quit' before.

No regrets ('cept for the poverty).

These people make my Quaker-educated, "there's-that-of-God-in-everybody" ass want to kill.

I've been where you've been, dude. They're hirin' where I work, I think. Send in a resume.

I've left every job I've ever had with a "take this job and shove it", with hardly any regrets ... 'cept for the poverty. :-)

Now, I'm self-employed. If I took this job and shoved it, I think that would be tantamount to masturbation. With a dildo.

That's really poetic, Hugh. I was so sure it was actual lyrics that I googled your post.

SEND IN THE CLOWNS!!!

Okay, I'll do that, jonmc. I'll drop you a line, maybe we can talk about the sort of work youse do.

Actually, I'll prolly be better tomorrow. We're one dude fewer around here since last Thursday, and all the growing pains are being shoveled onto my back.

Tomorrow, I'll let 'em know how much I resent it and leave it up to them whether they ease off or I quit.

Hugh,
That's a good idea.^^

You are Quaker educated? Me too.

It is actual (paraphrased) lyrics, iconomy. Gang Starr's The Planet.

Divine Wino:

Fight! Fight! Inner Light!
Kill, Quakers, kill!

Smash 'em, bash 'em, beat 'em senseless!
Do we have consensus!

Now, what kind of question doesn't have one of these at the end? Geez, Hugh, get a grip!

Someday I'll tell you a funny story about meeting for worship and one of those cans that moos when you tip.

Shit actually, I just did tell you. It was funny.

So I guess the can's inner cow just had to let it out, huh?

Many times, by many hands, it was like a scene in a prison flick except of no consequence, no spirits soared above earthly bonds and no one dug a tunnel with a spoon. Just mooing and consternation.

My son's in a Quaker school and I thought they made up that Fight, Fight, Inner Light, song. It's awesome.

Get laid off like me, hugh, and then you can be unemployed too. hey, that rhymes.

It's been a pretty good ride for the last two months. Poor, but marvelously free.

Gang Starr's great, but it's important to note that the essential hit it/quit it dichotomy was articulated by James Brown as early as 1977.

Repeatedly.
