Strangest MeFi Meme Ever. Driving up Hwy 101 in California, I saw an 18-wheeler hauling BIG pipes. On the cab was the name "Cabrera, Corona CA", but on the BACK of the cab, visible over the load of BIG pipes were (painted professionally, not graffiti) the words "Flash Friday". Wazzup with that?

Say kids, what was that MetaTalk post "lets make fun of user xx" about anyway? I come back in from weeding bamboo and check and find it deleted. I still have no clue what it was about. Somebody explain it.

weretable, it was a link to a MeFi memeber's userpage/homepage and folks making fun if him/it. There were only a few comments when I saw it, so I don't know what else went down.

I'm glad it was deleted. I thought it was cruel.

Wendell, I once saw a traffic sign in a deserted Texan oil town that said "HER SHOES WERE FULL OF FEET" in multicolored block letters. It was one of the most surreal moments I've ever experienced...

Well I saw it linked to his profile but I he had only made a couple of askmefi posts/answers and I just did not understand what had brought it on. I thought maybe he did something outrageous on Mefi that got deleted or something. *shrugs*

Flash Friday on a truck has gotta be a plea to help break up the monotony of the road with a peeky at the fairer sex's breastiseses.

Missed the MeTa but it looks like I didn't miss anything worthwhile. Why has MeFi gotten so damned abrasive? Its like people are starting their days by giving themselves really nasty papercuts and then squeezing lemons on them and then replying.

It's very likely the trucker's "handle" ...a la "Flash Finnegan or Friday Weeks" (2 of the trucker-names i know are real).

Several years ago me and two of my female buddies were coming back from a trip to Florida. Whilst on I-95 this is the sign WE saw on the back of a semi:

"Girls, show me your toes"

Being the upstanding middleaged church ladies my two friends were, they proceeded to do just that.

I wanna cry laughing just thinking about it.

Yeah, "Flash Friday" existed before MeFi. It's a drive-time radio thing where they insist that on Fridays, women flash truckers, and incidentally, show up at radio stations and flash DJs (listeners get to, you know, listen in).

Say, I have my own tradition I'd like the chicas to know about ...

OH, here it is. Flash Friday is Tom Leykis's version of Opie and Anthony's "Whip'em Out Wednesday".

Yeah, I saw "Flash Friday" written in the dirt on the back of a truck once and almost posted to MetaTalk about it, then I thought "that can't be referring to MetaFilter" and did a Google search and found the Leykis thing. This was about a year ago... figured it was something everyone else knew but me.
