This Ask-Me post really pissed me off. It's a shame that such a nut-bag has such a sweet username. The guy is ready to slander people as pedophiles over a disagreement about parking spaces.
Yeah, I read it earlier, and, if it was my kid I would also be pissed off at the lack of parking, but pedophilia just wouldn't occur to me. So I can understand him being pissed off BUT 1) he's not driving, so it isn't his problem and 2) he's basically going batshitinsane defensive in the thread, which is just never a good thing and makes me think he has some fairly serious anger issues. Also, and this kind of thing always baffles me, which would occur to you first? Call the police or askmefi? I'd just go ahead and call the police or traffic enforcement, wouldn't you?
Well actually I'd do nothing, because that's how I am, but I mean if I was one of those people who actually do something about situations. . .
Yeah, he's crazy. And the whole "schools are sacred, children are innocents, bow down and lick our toes, we are parents!" thing doesn't help much.
You know, if someone is lugging around kids and whatnot (and the kids aren't psychobrats), I have no problem say holding the door or walking a little further or whatever, but as soon as you demand it because you've procreated, then you get no help from me.
i think he's being misunderstood. Poor guy. He just wants to stop the hotel people from using the schools spaces.
He was still a little hot headed when he wrote the question, and people jumped on him.
I don't blame him being pissed off, for some reason traffic and car problems can do that to people. Haven't we all been cut off, or had a parking space taken from us? It really pisses you off. Some times I just want to TEAR THEIR LITTLE FUCKING HEADS OFF AND FEED IT TO THEIR TORSOES. THEN STAPLE THEIR ASS HOLE SHUT AND DRILL HOLES IN THEIR FACE WITH A 4 POUND HAM, THEN THROW THEM IN LAVA!
Wow - he seems like an irrational nutsack. Based on everything he says, the hotel people covet parking spots, not children. Yes, they're wrong for being there when the spots are zoned for something different, but that's about his only legitimate beef. Based on his tone throughout the thread, I sense he's not coming clean on how he presented the issue to parking ne'er-do-wells. I have a hunch he might not have been as civil as he says he was.
He has a right to be upset and want to fix the problem, but he is presenting it way wrong. If the city doesn't dosomething, I'm with the people that suggested he make it a PTA cause. If he's the only one concerned, then it's not a problem. If it's really how he describes it, there are plenty of upset parents. And when you get a few upset parents to be squeaky wheels, quite often results happen.
Nice thing about not living in the US (or the UK, from what I gather), is that you can watch little kids play the way you can watch puppies play, and not everybody thinks you want to fuck them. Sometimes cute things are just cute, and yet don't inspire you to wrap them around your dick.
joelf, thanks for the reality check. I'm not sure why so many of those "answers" are there when they're not answers at all. And my somewhat off-topic answers to the smoking question earlier were chopped (I'm not complaining!).
His presentation may be wrong but his question and reasons for asking it are not. People are parking their cars where they aren't supposed to park them and its making things more difficult at the school to pick up and drop off kids. That's not a small problem and the hotel workers really don't have any valid reason for squatting in those spaces during the posted times when they're not supposed to be there.
He could have set it up better but the pile on is a new one to me. I haven't seen that in AskMe ever. I'd guess it'll get cleaned out when Matt or Jessamyn gets home. At least they'll have plenty of flags to find it by.
There have been plenty (ooh boy plenty) of pileons like that in AskMe. However, because AskMe has much stricter and more explicit rules, matt and jessamyn have a much freer hand with deletions (and less whining about said deletions), so unless you see it while it's going on, you probably wouldn't notice.
If you want to see pileons, keep your eye out for relationship related AskMe's by anonymous folks. As far as I've seen, those have been the worst/best (depends on your opinion of MetaDrama).
