Breed big beetles. You can love him and hold him and call him George...
Or prehaps you'd rather just have a good howl.

The Beatles had nothing to do with Howl.

Hey, now there's a hobby. Your second "hold him" link is seriously creeping me out, WolfDog. *shudder*

I can't believe I read that entire article, but I did. Fascinating, if strange as all get out. I just really, really hope that the guy who wrote that is an entomologist and not solely a hobbyist. Those photos on page 5 and 6 of the tons of tupperware containers and buckets - the guy is serious.

I knew a guy who kept tarantulas as a hobby. He had about 300 of them, and spent 2-3 hours a day caring for his massive collection. He seemed quite crazy to me. His friend kept rattlesnakes.

That said... I want a giant beetle!

If I could afford it, I would buy just about all the stuff at this Beetle Sculpture site... really cool work (go through the gallery pages, and at the end it shows a little about how they do it). A couple of nice Goliaths in there.
