It's Friday night. It's the end of the week. In what celebratory activities will you partake?
I'm getting ready for work. Fridays and Saturdays are the most fun because not only are our guests, indeed, celebratory, but the entire crew is on and everyone has such a wicked sense of humor. The night flies by.
I'm sporting a sassy new 'do and still basking in the afterglow of last night with the MeCha ladies which is going to make helping other people have a good time tonight that much more fun.
I just got home, procured a taco from my favorite shack, picked up some beer, and am going to watch the Sox/Angels game. (This game will determine who I route for, as I'm still fairly ambivalent.)
Then I'm going to come back in here and try to entice you people into IRC.
went to wal-mart earlier, bought some mums. came home and watered a few plants, found the cat limping aroudn the house crying her head off. thinking of going to bed. probably go to bed really soon, get up early and take limping sobbing cat to the vet. my exciting life.
arse_hat, I feel your pain, I'm spending the evening doing research for a 35 page paper on corporate codes of conduct among multinational enterprises...
sitting around alternately watching the backlog of buffy on my dvr, listening to 'the boy least likely to' and studying. all while drinking pumpkin beer.
Worked on halloween decorations, watched a couple more episodes of Angel (we're on the last season, 4th disc of six, it's ending, and it's okay because I'm starting not to care) went out and had a Greek burrito with my daughter, bought batteries and a power strip at the grocery store to continue with the halloween decorations, learned that the Indian family at the bodega are changing shifts again (they change every year or two) and now I'm going to drink a couple PBRs and watch more Angel. And/or work on the Halloween decorations in the dark.
I'm packing. frances and I are moving in together in the morning. We used to live several blocks away from each other, then we lived across the street from one another for a year, and now we're moving down the street to a little green house with a backyard for the dogs.
Little steps.
I'm sitting here trying to make myself disassemble this computer so I can movie it and the desk tonight...but I'm reading MetaChat intead.
I played Sorry with Sam (he's 6) then we went for nightime walk around the square. It was a big adventure until the skinned knee. He is so sweet, and at the end of childhood innocence, and I treasure every little thing we do together.
Ah, ok...
Thanks, I'll need it. I think I will also need the two hours of drinking before he gets there to find my courage.
But I'm about half dressed, I just got out of the bath and as soon as my skin returns to normal I'll do my makeup while my roommate gets ready.
And I feel like I'm going to pass out.
I've never actually asked anyone out before. Hell, I don't think I've ever been on a DATE.
How did guys manage this stress for generations? This is insane!
Tonight we went to Red Robin for dinner (Whisky BBQ burger for me, dry ribs for the mister) and then to Safeway for grocery shopping. (We normally shop Thursday evenings and then pick up and take home A&W Chubby Chicken Strips and two small poutines. The mister had a class that ran late last night, so we shopped tonight instead.) For the rest of the evening the mister will play EQ and I'll surf the Meta world and, maybe, start working on a couple beaded bracelets that I've been putting off for weeks. At 9pm we'll continue doing whatever and watch What Not to Wear at the same time. We're talented that way.
bmarkey: chicken, feta cheese, tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion - it's basically a chicken gyro except in a spinach tortilla. There's a wrap place down the street from my house - the Lucky Otter - it's pretty good and the beer is $2.
My boy always works Friday nights and my roommate's always out, so it's turned into a very happy Girl's Night In for me. Tonight, I watched the White Sox beat the Angels (woo!), then last night's episodes of Survivor and the Apprentice (courtesy of TiVo), then finished it off with several episodes of Sex & the City. Dinner consisted of a large hunk of St. Andre triple cream brie, plenty of french bread, salad, wine, and half a pint of chocolate ice cream. Fabulous.
