For "Lost" fans, a screencap from season 1 episode 3. Spot anything?
"Genuine" in what context, P_G? Not that I don't think that seeing the logo there is cool, it just looks like a watermark, and not a decal/paintjob. I also don't think the writers were thinking that far ahead.
*goes and grabs his dvd set, compulsive freeze framing in mind*
I've never watched it but it seems pretty cool. How can I get caught up on the episodes and know wtf is going on if I were to jump in? Any good fan sites?
Moonbird, if you don't want to watch the first season, maybe try Television Without Pity? They do lovingly complete, exhaustive recaps of all Lost episodes.
And you should really check out the show -- it's one of the best things on the tube in quite a while.
P_G, I eat my words. By "watermark" I meant a photoshop effect, but damned if there's not a logo right there on that plane on my very own DVD set. *boggles*
One of the other things that made me skeptical was that the plane crashed upside down, yet the logo looks right side up. Whatever, I'm tripping, you're right I'm wrong, thanks for the fish!
Thanks killdevil! I never seem to get high-speed torrents, and this one has petered out at 1kb/s. I'll keep trying though, you've given me hope (the more I read about it, the more I need to watch it).
I'm using blogtorrent, and it only gives the download stats (no r or l). I am using windoze firewall, but have blogtorrent listed as an exception, so it ought not to be blocking it. Cable modem, etc.
(I know this has nothing to do with Lost, sorry to threadjack).
I like soap operas. ABC soaps, to be exact. I started watching them when I graduated from high school and didn't have anything to do midday. I catch them occasionally now. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with soap operas.
I thought the wierd thing about that picture was that it wasn't the actor who plays Walt, but the one who plays the young Chris Rock on "Everybody Hates Chris"...
To second the Abrams-has-a-master-plan thought, what Desmond thinks is behind the concrete in the bunker would explain the difficulty the survivors had with determining direction last season.
And by the way, I just checked my original bittorrent file of s01e03, made from the original broadcast, and the logo is there as well. It doesn't look quite right somehow, perhaps it was added in post-production, but it's there.
I was thinking about walts talking backwards talking which apparently could either be "don't push the button, the button is bad" or "push the button, no button's bad" and wondering if it references a button on the keyboard of the apple ][. I think that's stretching it though.
I'm enjoying the show, but my ultimate enjoyment is going to hinge on whether this is all ad hoc or planned or at least if it all makes sense together.
By the by, the TWOP recaps are really amusing ... I've been reading them ever since the first season of 24 (in fact I still read the 24 recaps even though I don't watch the show no mo'). This, to me, is priceless regarding Lost:
"and, um, how a man can survive when his only entertainment is Mama Cass records and old Apple II games ("GO W: You cannot go that way. SCREW THIS: I don't know how to screw")."
