The Saga Continues... I'm back from the lithotripsy. The good news is that the procedure was a piece of cake except for the magnesium citrate. The bad news is, it didn't seem to destroy the stone completely, so I'll prolly have to go back for more. But knowing what I'm in for makes me less agida. Thanks again for all the support.
Yay jon! I was just starting to get anxious that we hadn't heard from you.

You'll be peeing in no time.

I was treated for kidney stones by a Dr. Baumrucker. Several years later I learned that all the other doctors in town referred to him as "Doctor Prong-wrecker." Shortly afterwards, he fled the country to avoid a malpractice lawsuit. Never heard from again.

Hint: no peanuts or walnuts for a while.

Thank you for thanking me for sharing that.

Awesome, jonmc. I just started a tribute thread, but then saw this one here.

So ignore that one, and...

and just to show how "back" I am, here's a link to the most blatant rip-off song in rock and roll history. (not yousnedit, for a change). I don't think I've ever heard a copy this obvious, but if you're gonna copy, not a bad choice.

Dag, you beat me to it. I was going to try an FPP of kick ass rock and roll to welcome you back to the land of the living, but hell, you're already doing it. Glad you're better!

Well, I'm not out of the woods yet, I'll probably have to go back for more lithotripsy.

But to continue on the Frankie Valli tip, here's the song that last song blatantly ripped off, and this song by a group featuring Frankie's Brother Bobby, called Stephen Crane Village named after the Newark housing project they grew up in, and from yousendit, here's a familiar sounding group billing itself as "Wonder Who," doing a rather unexpected Dylan cover.

Richard Price (my favorite author) referred to Dion & the Belmonts and Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons as "sharkskin music," music for early 60's hoodlums. I think he's got it right.

I'm guessing lithotripsy sounds alot cooler than it really is (seems like it should be about acid trips and nice pens or something).

Sorry to hear about the stoning and de-stoning. I'm guessing you're avoiding any Bob Dylan right now?

glad it's almost gone...you have to watch for more tho now that you had these. (but it's better to have stones than some disease or something)

Thanks for checking in. Perhaps you could use a little Johnny Cash. Perhaps his rejected Bond theme submission for Thunderball?

Too bad it's not all done, jonmc, but I'm glad today went not too bad. :^)

That made sense in my head.
