oh sweet, i LOVE scat!!! i realize scat is kinda "out there" and that not many people are "into" scat, but i'm glad to see there are other scat enthusiasts here. btw i wonder if google could help us find more information about scat or maybe even some old photos/videos featuring all our favorite scat performers and scat performances

I'm with the Wedge on scat singing (and 'vocalese' too, for anyone who thinks Lambert Hendricks and Ross were a legal firm)... I still remember getting my 6-year-old socks knocked off by a TV performance of Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme standing face-to-face and trading lines.

And interestingly, Wikipedia lists among its notable scatters The Nutty Squirrels, whose record I bought before Alvin and the Chipmunks... (Anybody have an mp3 of "Uh-Oh, Part 1 (or 2)"? jonmc?)
