PlaceOpedia Google maps and Wikipedia come together.
Nice.

Except (a) when the hell is Google going to include map data for Australia and other countries below the equator? I mean, shit, other companies do. It can't be that difficult. (b) why aren't sattelite images working on Google maps today?

Futility.

Where are you Jimbob? a lot of Sydney has the satellite info, but yeah, slow with the maps.

I'm in rural South Australia, and yeah the satellite coverage can be quite good over parts of Australia but I don't know what's keeping them with the maps, when so many other online mapping services have excellent coverage. I mean, I live in a town of 500 people in a forgotten little valley in South Australia and Multimap can show me the walking track by the local creek, but Google doesn't even know where the capital city is.

Awesome. Now I'm going to waste half my day placing markers on locations with Wikipedia articles, and creating stubs for locations without.
