Gas prices in your area? What were they for you last week? This week?
[More:]My GF and I just went out and filled up at 3.06/ga for regular. As we sat there the sign was changed to 3.09 for reg, and 3.29 for premium by a rather sheepish and scared looking station employee.

According to a "cheap gas" site for California, here in Phoenix we're paying somewhere between 5-30 cents more per gallon than Southern Californians are, which is pretty fucking suspicious. We usually pay less than California. (The range over there is about 2.65-2.75 for the cheapest at CostCo, and 3.25 at the high end for premium.)
Houston, TX -- June 1: 1.79, August 31: 2.59, September 1: 2.79 for regular unleaded.

I filled up last night at 2.71/gallon (regular) here in Seattle. The average yesterday was about 2.79, I think. On my way into work tonight, the station near my house (which always has inflated prices, even in the best of times) showed 2.99 for regular. Keep in mind, though, that most of our gas is made from Alaska crude.

Filled up my wife's Taurus yesterday at $2.86/gal here in Fort Worth. She was almost on E and it took just under $40.

I'd guess that we're heading for £1 per litre, here in the UK, sometime soon. Not sure what that would be in gallons. Are US gallons the same amount as proper gallons?

A very cold and cynical part of my id, is thinking that the New Orleans fiasco is a good thing for the US government. This way, the high petrol prices can't be seen as being directly caused by their misbegotten deeds in the Middle East.

It was two sixtyish last week, over three now in Buffalo.

I don't have a car anymore, though, so this is just from the few stations I pass on the bus. I couldn't afford it when we passed the two fifty point and sold it.

I filled up on Wednesday. When I drove by my usual station in the morning, not far from my office in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, it was $2.75 a gallon for regular. When I stopped on my way home, it was $2.89 and I had to wait for a pump. Today, it's $3.15.

You guys are getting it cheap! From Champaign, Illinois:

Sunday (day before): $2.59
Tuesday (day after): $3.19
Friday: $3.15

IIRC, most of August it was around $2.50. I don't have a problem with high gas prices in principal; I think it helps make people more aware of their wasteful driving habits. The problem is that in practice it really hurts the shipping industry.

It was $1.06CDN per liter yesterday. I don't know what that is after the metric/imperial and money conversions. It was just under a dollar a couple days ago.

deborah, if my calculations are correct, that's equal to about $4.02CDN per gallon. With the US-CDN exchange rate at 0.841751 (according to X-rates.com), that means you're paying about $3.78US per gallon. I think.

Ouch.

See about halfway down this page.

I haven't really been paying that much attention, cuz I never buy gas.

But the bus fare has gone up, which I do pay.

Here in the Valley Girl Valley, aka Northern Los Angeles (which now that New Orleans now longer exists can start calling itself "No.L.A."):

I got gas Monday morning when the word that "gas prices are going up" was just getting out, best price $2.65.9, worst price $2.91.9...

Today, best price $2.91.9, worst price $3.19.9...

I'm in Boston...last week, I hesitated to buy gas at $2.57, thinking it might go down a couple cents... Last night, I paid $3.27.

Today in California's San Gabriel Valley (Pasadena and its environs, just east of LA) it's around $2.98. I work in Beverly Hills, and the cheap stuff is going for $3.10 there.
