You ever heard her "Live at The Ryman," album where she asks old bluegrass codger Bill Monroe for a date on stage? Glorious moment that. She also deserves kudos for unleashing the instrumental brilliance of Ricky Skaggs on the world (that's him playing guitar on "Two More Bottles Of Wine")
"Blue Kentucky Girl" was my first exposure to the lady, and I'm just getting back into her music since moving to Texas, where she appears to be more visibly popular than in California.
keep digging my man, her early stuff (esp. with Gram Parsons) is fucking revelatory. That woman has the voice of an angel. Same goes for fellow texan Billy Joe Shaver (who is also Kinky Freidman (my personal hero and role model)'s "spiritual adviser)
