the apostrophized "and" ('n') is a minor obsession of mine, in common parlance (scrivance, really) and especially in business names.
There used to be a chain of convenience stores called Git'n'Go. The chain has since been purchased by the Kum and Go chain. (Yes, the link is work-safe)
In 'n' Out Burger, but their sign is all In-N-Out which is stupid compared to the glory of: In 'n' Out with the 'n'. In searching for the in 'n' out site, I discovered something called Nick Cannon Presents Wild 'N Out -- and I have know idea what that's about.
However to make it up to you I will tell you about my favorite one of these 'n jobbers.
It was called git it 'n go.
It's like a resturantish place attached to a gas station that I went to in Mississippi. They seem to sell hushpuppies, bootleg Jerry Lee Lewis tapes, packets of tartar sauce and obscure collectable cans of malt liquor. They had other stuff as well, but that is what I was focused on.
Three of these things belong together
Three of these things are kind of the same
Can you guess which one of these doesn't belong here?
Now it's time to play our game (time to play our game)
There's a place called Sit'n'Spin in Seattle where you can get a drink, some damn fine food and watch great bands while you do your laundry. I saw The Church play there several when I still lived up there. True story.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Frisbee Girl, but the Sit'n'Spin has up'n'gone. There was another club there for maybe a year, but last time I was in Belltown (about a month ago) the space was empty.
