The Unholy Marraige is Complete! Country & Heavy Metal consummate their union: The Supersuckers honky-tonk version of "Breaking The Law." (rapidshare, click free, follow directions) Get out your beers and make some devil horns. It don't get much better.
I take you've never heard Hayseed Dixie?

You take wrong, o9scar. I have several tunes of there's in my collection. But the 'suckers do an exemplary job on this track, camp-free.

I always associate this kind of sound with Nick Cave. Funny though, I rather like the Supersuckers and this sounds nothing like I would've expected.

Um...Raging Slab called.
They were wondering where you've been for the past 15 years.

Now that I think about it...weren't the SWANS really a country band at heart?

Smart Dalek, I have the first Raging Slab album on vinyl, that I bought to replace the cassette I bought back in the day. But the Supersuckers (on this track at least, usually they're just a really good punk band) take the opposite approach, turning metal into country. Just sayin'

But metal to country's too easy. Heck, Johnny Cash did the same with the Nails' "Rusty Cage".

Now Tammy Wynnette's "Stand By Your Man" (as performed by Wendy O. Williams of the Plasmatics and Lemmy from Motorhead) required skill. ;)

Red Star Belgrade did a nice country version of Highway to Hell.

Eh. "Breaking The Law," is the perfect song for this excercise, because of the outlaw badass lyrics. (someone should also do a country version of "Every Rose Has It's Thorn," a bad rock song, but it'd make a nice country weeper. And the Supersuckers cover of Willie Nelson's "Bloody Mary Morning," is great, too.

Indeed it did, my friend. I have that in an old slip case import.

Now that Mutt Lange has redefined country into what we all used to call "Def Leppard," country to metal (or vice versa) shouldn't be much of a stretch.

Today's country stars record hair rock with Nashville sessioneers on fiddle and lap steel for ambiance.
