Has it ever struck you that 70s kids TV was deeply, deeply surreal? It's no wonder we're all so weird. The Ark link is working for me - try the site I got it from (which disables your back button, be warned.)

I was reading a book on the history of bubblegum music the other day. Apparently they had made recordings of the Josie & the Pussycats song featuring a black female vocalist. When it came time to make the cartoons, they drew a black female to reflect her. The network pressured them to remove her, but the producer stood his ground and we got the first black female cartoon character. Good for him. And all three of them looked hot in their little outfits.

Deeply surreal.

I remember Ark II, but ended up in a dimension, for awhile, where no one remembered it but me. Had me questioning the noggin for awhile.

But I only recall the episode where there were two warring factions and the Ark sets up a force field between them. Maybe that's the only one I ever saw.

I rather preferred Space 1999.

perhaps, but you do realize that Josie's "boyfriend," Alan was actually Fred from Scooby Doo's secret lover, right? I mean they even dressed alike. But that just left more snootchie bootchies for my main man Shaggy.

And Melody was kinda hot in that ditzy, Corinne Bohrer type of way.

(caveat: pips proudly wore the Josie & the Pussycats t-shirt I bought her 8 years ago, unironically. I loved that show)

Do you remember that "Yapple Zapple," genie from the animated I Dream Of Jeannie series? That green motherfucker swished like a slalom skier, my man.

Also, Cheryl Ladd was a vocalist on the Josie & the Pussycats records, if you didn't know. And to this het male, Velma from scooby doo is the hottest animated chick of all time.
