This handy little tool worked a treat and downloading the file, burning the image to a CD, booting the machine from said CD, typing in the resultin gibberish from the screen to the web site and getting a plain-text password back took all of ten minutes. It was actually pretty scary how easy it was, to be honest. The password was not a real word and included multiple special characters, so it was reasonably strong, as well.

It was refreshing to receive help in an IRC setting without snarking about what a dickhead I am and how everyone's 12 year-old brother could work this out in 5 minutes. This is exactly the kind of thing that I find Google almost useless for, because searching brings millions of results, most of which contain all sorts of embedded nastiness.
