Pony Request/Site Design When reading taz's post from earlier today I finally realized how much trouble I have telling where one comment ends and another begins...→[More:]
It might be because I'm colorblind, but there isn't quite enough contrast between the background and the "posted by" lettering for them to stand out for me. Also, there is less space between comments than there is on other popular sites (MeFi). It isn't an issue in threads full of short comments, but ones with longer comments get very confusing for me to read, especially when I'm coming back to check into a thread (although sometimes I use Recent Comments, which is great). Does anyone else have a similar problem? If not, I'll shut up.
Okay, I've tried this: a small, light box in front of the "posted by" line for a graphic visual break from the text, and increased spacing between comments to help the eye sort things out. Let's see if this improves readability or not; let me know what you think.
I broke out my laptop to check it out:
I can see the boxes in Safari;
I still can't see them in FireFox.
So I guess the little elves in FireFox are either on strike or don't like little boxes.
