Kometten Verbotten: Blocked! Why do new users get this message when they try to leave comments?→[More:]I invited jkirlin, the author of the blog featured in Specklet's Pretty Pictures post, to join, and he got "Kometten Verbotten: Blocked!" when he tried to post. I tried a new account myself to see what was going on and I got the same thing with a new user. What's the story?

All accounts need to be approved by me before they're enabled for posting. Why? Because of assorted assholery. I aim to get them approved in under twelve hours, but I don't think anyone's had to wait longer than eight.

Once I get around to it I'll put in some notes to make this clearer to new registrants.
