greasemonkey security warning I don't pretend to understand this but if you have the greasemonkey extension for firefox installed you might want to read at least these 2 warning list emails. Nothing else has come up about it on tech sites yet as far as I can tell.

Hmm. I don't understand much of it either but it looks bad and I hardly use Greasemonkey at all so I may as well go ahead and uninstall it until this all gets cleared up. Thanks for the heads up, peacay.

this is really bad. if you go to http://diveintogreasemonkey.org/ it will alert you if you're running a flawed version and send you to the download site. Apparently you have to rollback to 0.3.5 or uninstall completely.

By now, users should be updating their systems to Firefox 1.0.6, due to problems caused by last week's 1.0.5 release.

Thanks puke & cry. Smart Dalek, there doesn't seem to be a 1.0.6 version live yet. mozilla.org has both 4 AND 5 available though, which is a bit strange.

Oh well, greasemonkey's fixed (I hope).

Moz Foundation's still working on it, to make sure it's compatible with older extensions.

I hope someone releases a worm that uses that vulnerability so all you stupid greasemonkey nimrods who need formatting in their lame-ass metafilter comments get hacked by that y2000k stuff
