emcee 3 all done now. Set Three of July's emcee is now complete, so go have a look!
It's gorgeous! Good work everybody.

ha! i love how you go through the egress at the end of two, and by the end of three you've been shot into cartoon land.
perhaps if the last panels had autorefresh links hidden to some transitory oOOOo and then back to the next set

I've really enjoyed these - some of them seem to have the pictorial equivilent of a thread derail which is kind of funny.

Me3dia does wonderful things with his transitions. I love how he finished iconomy's moon face in the this set. (At least I think it's a moon face. It's a face, anyway.) Also he has three women in this panel, which was cool to me since I started the first set with the Three Graces.

And I love invitapriore's trompe l'oeil effect. Plus, this one has two self referential panels, with "mecha" and "metachat".

(Also, I think we've finally learned why Shane never posts during a full moon...)

um, missing link strip in aisle feisty?

i really dig shane's and psycho kitty's

also, because i must share the joke
i have explained set two to people stopping by today as this:
"--see it starts with fish, and after a long time compressed into a staggery blur of events, we have our first mammals and flowers, which then become deified with a slide into science which causes man to lurch forward all bowler hatted until it's time to go--"

of course note links below

Maybe feisty expected the strip to be dropped in, I don't know... she can let us know, and I can adjust it. Each person's panel is supposed to start with the slice they received, but I think this maybe wasn't completely clear, especially since I wasn't sending out uniform instructions to everyone, which I'll do next time.

Also, I'll include notes next time, for anyone who wants to share information about sources, concepts or inspiration.

Eth, I think you need to do a storyline for each of the sets!

set one:
it starts with graces in the park
before the dancing in the dark
middle ages have their wonder
as we wonder of elsewheres tropical
while watching the growth of the topical
blossoming in the light
despite the imps at our feet
we talk together when we meet
with a bright wash of welcome
as you wave a webbed hand
for the babies in our band
posted by ethylene 16 July | 05:25
set three:
now witches watch our mail
as women get drawn down to scale
to flee from the watchful sky born eye
hit the highway
fill out your mecha-nize forms and facts
and you will be given the way to the carvinal acts
the secrets inside may surprise you
as does our well meaning way
posted by ethylene 16 July | 05:35
set four:
creatures of all shapes and size
can't do much for our crude demise
but girls with gifts exude their mystique
despite the movie star miasma you seek
inner joys and terror give quarter
even as armies march to slaughter
look up in worry as we present
a storm cloud objective when heard with intent

Bravo! A sort of Mechan "Nostradamus meets Samuel Taylor Coleridge" in an exquisite corpsey kind of way!

thanks
i have to cat nap now
see you post movie time
or audioblogged
and for gossakes get some metamix listeners to get their thinking caps on!

It's great. I love it. I can't wait for the next one!

Great stuff yet again. Killer first panel iconomy, and as always, a top drawer me3dia transition. Also a pretty remarkable transition from bdave. Hell, it's all good.

Splendiferous, as usual! ethylene, you should do one of those narratives for every emcee.

I think me3dia is really aces at these corpses, as Slack-a-gogo said. He can really rock the slice, yo. I like how he too added a moon, and then invitapriore has a night sky, and then Shane did a werewolf. invitapriore, did you draw your panel? If so, how did you do it? I love me some pixel art! Very nice transition between Fiesty's and bdave's panels, too.

Shane...gorgeous drawing! It was worth waiting for. I love the hands and the nails, especially, and the writing and the lipstick kiss on the bathroom mirror....fantastic. And psychokitty's panel is beautiful - the way the colors are combined with the b &w. Some of these can really stand alone as great pieces.

Thanks gang, I'm totally blown away by set four...the merge between the sets is amazing...

They're all so very good, thanks for letting me play!

Wow, it's great getting to see the other panels in this. Awesome!

iconomy: yeah, I drew it with a wacom tablet by laying down areas of color and then using screen/multiply to shade them appropriately.

Aw, you guys are making me blush.
posted by me3dia 16 July | 19:44
I was out of my league, and also miffed the transition. I'm sorry. It was fun though.
posted by Feisty 17 July | 01:05
she could probably still add the strip, with maybe a cut and an overlap layer.
i like yours, esp. narratively
posted by ethylene 17 July | 01:11
No, Feisty, not out of your league! I thought your panel was beautiful.
posted by taz 17 July | 01:14
I always mess up the transition too, Feisty--now i just figure i'll take color or an element or 2 from the slice and not worry too much about it otherwise.
