I had the most vivid lucid dream about two weeks ago, one of those dreams that really fools you because you spend dream hours doing regular banal things, running errands, talking to people about nothing and so on. Then I was outside of some building in midtown buying a hotdog and this guy comes up to me and says, "they just arrested the president, they just marched him out of the whitehouse in cuffs." And I was like "oh shit, but what about Cheney?" And this woman was passing by and she said "They arrested all of them, the pulled one of those mobile police precinct busses up and hauled them all off."

And I remember being really excited and then confused because I couldn't remember the order of succession from civics class and everyone in the street just froze and looked around like school was cancelled for that day and what the hell are we gonna do now? And then I just said fuck it and woke up.

It was a satisfying dream, to say the least.

I accidently combined two different headlines and got "Karl Rove to Host Teen Choice Awards".

i think Speaker of the House gets the job, Divine--Hastert.

Karl Rove at the Teen Choice! hysterical--the kids would run away screaming.

Or, more optimistically: "Bush enters final hours" from here and here.

I knew it up to speaker of the house and then I got stuck, in the dream they got everyone, it was like the raid on the club in Millers Crossing. It reminded me of that SNL bit where the order of succession had to be changed when Bush Sr. was elected so that if he died everyone in America would be president one by one and then everyone who wasn't American and then dogs and cats and houseplants and then Dan Quayle.

Slack-a-gogo, the picture in your first link with Rove sitting behind Bush is THE CREEPIEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN.

Jon Stewart has single-handedly kept me sane. It's not the jokes, it's that moment when you see he gets how terribly unfunny all of this is... and he keeps on cracking wise anyway. I've never seen such compassion in humour.
