Gulf Coast People! So who is in the path of Dennis the Menace?

I figured most people evacuated but thought maybe someone was brave/stupid enough to remain behind to update us until they lost power. =P
I'm not but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for those who are.

I used to, but I am thanking God I don't any more. Dang.

I wonder if the house I lived in survived last time, not to mention THIS time.

It's coming here next, more rain in our sodden rivers, probably more flooding.

mgl: have the rivers been high this season? I know that the area along 74a east from asheville (towards bat cave et. al) got hit hard last year, but didn't hear about anything this year. I have family near there (fairview/gerton) and i might visit.

Don't forget to keep in touch, you know, so we don't think you're dead and start dividing up your belongings.

Thanks y'all but I doubt it'll be too bad. If you think you can get any money for my user account, well than damn! Let's auction!

Yes, the rivers are high - it's been raining every day more or less since April. So if we get a whole bunch more from Dennis there will definitely be some flooding. Everyone got hit last fall, bad, and it broke the water mains so we had no water for days; downtown shut down; there was 7 feet of water in Biltmore Village. I was putting on a wine tasting for the art museum and we decided to go ahead, with bottled water to drink, porta potties trucked in from South Carolina and tasteful baskets of hand sanitizer. All these tourists showed up since there was nothing else open - we made a lot of money!

Supposedly that was a 100 year flood. . .well the river is even with the banks now and the edges are overflowing.

Jeb Bush: Hurricane Dennis Could Be Fault of Michael Schiavo

Florida Governor Jeb Bush has asked a state prosecutor to investigate possible links between Hurricane Dennis and Michael Schiavo. Governor Bush said that he connected Mr. Schiavo with the category 3 storm after realizing that Dennis spelled backwards is actually 'sinned.' ...
