What Kingdom Claims You? I can't seem to find a definitive/authoratative answer online and it's driving me nuts: is yeast an animal or a fungus?
This site places it under fungae.

For a minute I doubted the fungus conclusion, so I looked it up in the glossary of Molecular Biology of the Cell:

yeast - common term for several families of unicellular fungi. Includes species used for brewing beer and making bread, as well as pathogenic species (that is, species that cause disease).

And I tell people I have a biology degree. *hangs head in shame*
