Ways to Remove Cat Odor? So my cat peed in my suitcase. It's one of those soft duffels with wheels. Any advice on how to remove the smell? I'm afraid a simple spray of Febreeze won't really remove the smell once the clothing is pressed in there for a long flight. Thanks for any suggestions you can give!
This happened to me, although in a soft sided bag. As there did not appear to be any surfaces thet would be harmed by water, I scrubbed it down with simple green and rinsed it with the hose. Repeat. It worked fine.

Take off and nuke the case from space. It's the only way to be sure.

Congratulations, jaksemas, you're the new owner of a stylish new soft litterbox with wheels!

Considering the very low cost of fabric luggage, and the high cost in time and enzyme forumlas...throw it away and buy a new one. Trust me on this one.

Baking soda. Make paste with water. Or, buy new suitcase.

Actually what you want is an enzymatic cleaner like Nature's Miracle. The cleaner itself doesn't have much of an odor, and it's great for other things around the house, too. Most pet care stores sell it, as do some natural grocers.

A warning to you all: keep guitar cases closed.

That's horrible, Cryptical Environment. Guitar as litterbox, or guitar as scratching post?

That is the late great Mel (1987?-2003), the Best Cat Ever, resting in my former roomie Scott's Epiphone case. Breed: gorgeous mutt.
