I’ve got a crush on you, sweetie pie... ...all the day and night-time give me sigh... Have you ever, as adults, shared your feelings with the girl/boy that you had a crush on back in fourth grade?
I ran into my "first true love" a couple of days ago, but I felt that my feelings for her back then wasn't something I'd like to disclose, now.

Hell no! Actually come to think of it, I was one of those kids that acted on all my crushes, so they all pretty much knew about it. Damn, I wish I had that sort of self confidence nowdays.

Why didn't you disclose, soundofsuburbia?

gaspode: Well, I'm married now and I didn't want the woman to think that I still had the hots for her and wanted her as my mistress... :)

No, I don't know, actually. I mean, it's all innocent and I figure she'd be flattered. But still... that's why I'm asking, I guess.

I didn't really start having crushes till I was older. I had a massive crush on my class valedictorian. She's a professor and a published author now. We were friendly, but I was way too awkward with romance type stuff to ever even consider asking her on a date. Haven't seen her since graduation. Don't know what I'd say if I did.

Kindergarten love: I had such a big crush on her that I pulled her hair and peed on her sandwich. The powers that be (somehow my mother was involved) spanked me bare-bottomed in front of the class.

We finally met again not too long ago, and fooled around like little animals. Got bare-bottomed and found out all sorts of things we'd wondered our whole lives about.

Her skin smells faintly of roses. She likes to talk and kiss at the same time. When I close my eyes, I see her.

I am also fairly certain that (IRL at least), I've never been on the recieving end of a crush. No female anywhere, ever went to sleep thinking "I wounder if jonmc likes me?" and probably includes women I've dated. C'est la vie.

Oh stop, jonmc. If you've ever gone to sleep thinking "I wonder if (whoever) likes me" it only stands to reason that somewhere, someone thought that about you too. It's like wondering if old loves ever think of you. Of course they do. . at least some of them, sometimes. Because you think about them, don't you? It's human nature.

On another note. Peed on her sandwich!?! That's very very strange and wonderful, Hugh Janus.

I was in love. What can I say?

Hugh Janus-You had me at "Kindergarten Love." Seriously, it does me good to read what you wrote. It brings hope and love and sex all together in one big ball of possibility.

jonmc, you Duke of Self-deprecation, listen to rainbaby, cause you know you're just talking smack now.

Hugh Janus, that's the coolest thing I've heard in a long time. Don't stop telling your stories!

frisbee girl, I'm not saying I've never had success with the ladies, but it's generally speaking an "a for effort," situation that gets me there. I'm not saying I'm worthless or anything, just that I'm not the type of person who arouses that type of passion, not in real life.

This may be due to my disinclination to micturate on hoagies. I just don't know.

Let's see, some of mine...

From sixth grade on I had a major crush on the guy who was our class valedictorian. As far as I know he's married and living out East somewhere. I'm sure he probably knew I liked him but never said anything about it. It was less embarrassing that way. ; )

My major, major high school crush is now living in Tennessee and has a country album out. (I met him in choir, go figure) I found this out when I googled him a couple years ago, found his website, and sent an email to see if he was the same guy I knew. We've talked every so often since then. He's still extremely hot but married. (damn! : ))

My major college crush is also married but I have no idea of anything beyond that.

Given the fact that these guys are all married now, I think telling them I had a thing for them is a Bad Idea. : )

Hugh Janus that was wonderful. Sadism, heart throb, pissing, later life fulfillment and kisstalking.
All the major food groups.

I had a few wonderbabes as a youngster but I never let on. As a teenager I fell for my best friend who was going out with my other best friend. But even when they broke up and I hinted to her of my affections, she (kindly but with certainty) shut the door on that idea. I still think of her periodically and would be happy to see her. Shit, I'd be happy for any chick I dug or went out with to cross my path (mostly) -- happy for any girl to cross my path usually.

i remember the first time i saw her, on the first day of 4th grade. she had moved here from arkansas during the summer. she was pert, blonde, and cute with an accent that sent my heart into convulsions. her dad was my scoutmaster in boy scouts and the meetings were in her basement. she was the whole reason i bothered with boy scouts at all. i was smitten with her for years and never said a thing. we had one date in high school, more a 'friends going to a concert with pizza after' than a formal date. she became addicted to drugs after high school and ran away with a biker. probably a crack whore these days. or dead. sigh.

I went home for a few weeks (home being where I grew up and where my parents live). While at Starbucks with some old friends, my high school crush walked in, looking hot and dangerous with shaggy hair and a leather jacket. I, of course, hid.

I googled my high school crush once and found him in California. That was all I did - seeing his name on the screen was enough to give me heart palpitations: I guess I was scared that he might see me through the screen! I have never gotten over the time I fell down a flight of stairs in school (I was wearing ice skates, long story) and landed right in front of him. It was awful. He asked me if I was okay and I just wanted to vanish into another dimension.

You're the coolest.

Oh hell, I've just been inspired to google stalk some boys from high school. It's really fucking depressing: the ones I liked the best still live in our (very small) hometown and have teenage kids. Thank dog I got out.

At my 10-year high school reunion, my partner tipsily blurted out to an old crush that I had once written in a journal that I could see myself married to her. I wouldn't say it went badly, but she did begin to avoid me at the party.
posted by me3dia 05 July | 16:39
Ran into her in my home town a little while back. She later asked a mutual friend about me -- what I'm up to, if I'm attached, etc. Interesting for the pure fantasy element of it, but how likely would it be that we'd have anything in common at this point? (or ever did)

I had a crush on my best male friend all throughout high school. When he graduated and went to college (locally) I'd given up on hoping we'd ever be more than friends. His roommate asked me out and I said yes. My friend was dating someone, we'd never exchanged more than a friendly hug, so I didn't think it would be a big deal.

Apparently when my friend found out he freaked, walked into their shower, and sat under the cold water fully dressed for quite some time.
He never said a word to me, though, and we were friends throughout college. I still wonder about that.

Funnily enough the first time I saw my wife-to-be I had to virtually restrain myself from wolf whistling Tex Avery style. That was about eight years or so before we even spoke to each other. We just celebrated our third wedding anniversary tonight.

Yay, love. Happy-happy, dodgy!

I've moved way too much to ever see an old crush of mine. But I don't really have any sad-sweet thoughts about that - they were really ultramild things (boyfriends and exes don't count here, of course).

At any rate, all the seriously heart-fluttering, world-rocking hyperventilating in my life originated with the Mister. Still, we had enough strange and funny stuff in the course of our romance and pre-romance to fill the whole crush bucket.

Exclaimation here for dodgy!

Crushes = many...too many, but none revealed in time, and now all my crushes are at least a coast or two away. Only 3 or 4 small regrets in this dept though.
