For all my Ganesh homies here on MetaChat Five image gallery pages of the sweet elephant god, plus wallpaper. And here's a nice background article by one of my favorite writers. And here's a wallpaper I made just for you.
*looks for equivolent wasabi pea collection*

ya know i loved the fact you used the same frank lloyd wright pattern for the first emcee that i had copied from that museum site, because i wondered if it was the same until you put it in your notes.

Thanks for this, taz. I had heard the name Ganesh but didn't know anything about him. Cool deity.

Paunchy, full-bodied, long-trunked (though with one broken tusk), attired in whatever costume the artist fancies ... Ganesh ... is arguably Hinduism's most popular divine figure.
I like the idea of a deity being represented as slightly imperfect. Can you imagine Jesus being represented with teeth missing after a punch up with the tradesmen in the temple?

sadly, yes

see, now you're waiting for a picture
i really should be being productive while futzing around, like sorting out webspace

that's a great page, taz. i'm only half way through it but it's both visually attractive and compellingly readable

Alrighty, then! Here's a couple more: 1, 2.

I got the graphics from this "coloring book" page: you can make your own!

Cool gods all the way down until you hit Jesus who looks like a social worker who just wants to talk to the kids "on their level".

Ak! That's hilarious, dabitch! Perfect.

Gyan, my husband was in Mumbai/Bombay for the Ganesh festival as part a film crew shooting a documentary, and that's what he came back saying.
