Sweet Zombie Jesus (my new favorite phrase - thanks gramschmidt!). The first link is extremely nasty. This is the second time today I have to go look at the cute bunny again because of you!

The mussels one made me laugh. Plus they have that little dragon thingy in the back of the first photo - that optical illusion mindblower that was linked at mf - remember?

Are you people vegetarians? I mean, rat isn't exactly a delicacy in the U.S., but I don't see how it's much different than chicken. Oh, and some of those recipes look really good.

Most people don't kill and butcher their own meat, or even see the whole animal or recognizeable parts thereof at the store these days in USAia.

In Shenzhen I have been offered rat at a swanky restaurant -- a local delicacy, apparently. it was broiled rat with black beans if I remember correctly. I objected, feebly, to my interpreter, about Black Plague and stuff like that, and she answered that they were "clean" rats, ie country rats that live in the woods or something, not nasty sewer city rats.
unconvinced, I declined, and had some tasty dog instead.

ps the dog part is a joke, the rest is true

Looked pretty fatty, too, but I'd bet there are ways to get them sanitarily.

I mean, I wouldn't want to eat just any snail I found on the street, but I'd trust them from a decent restaurant.
