Is this sheep a virus or dangerous in any way? I've seen it in various places over the years, now a friend's daughter wants to put in on her (the daughter's) laptop. Friend asks me if its dangerous? Now I ask you -- is it?

Crap, there's a comprehensive listing of spyware stuff somewhere, but forget where.

It says it's an altered english version of the original "Stray Sheep", available here

It looks like you normally pay for that version.

It looks a bit like the infamous "Bonzi Buddy" spyware program.

However, I have a feeling it might actually be innocent - and it would be an exception to the rule for software like this.

But until proven otherwise, I wouldn't personally install it on anything, especially not from some random Geocities page.

Unless it's changed substantially in the past 7 years since I last saw it then no it should be safe. I worked at a company once where this spread around desktops like bloody wildfire. Weird.

I have it on my computer, it's been there for a few years. No viruses or spyware; it's just there.
