When is the new mix swap? I'm growing impatient here people.

kenko, I didn't get to play last time, so you can make a mix and send it to me. I'll listen.
2 Gigs a month is way too much for me. (It'd probably take me about 3 months to get through that) and yet I don't want to miss out on any of the mixes.
I'm wondering (for purely selfish reasons) if we could do something that's a bit slower, a bit more sociable and of higher quality. (I'm talking about myself here. There's no way I could do more than about three mixes without them starting to repeat or sound rubbish.)
My idea is,
Could we set it up so that only one or two people release mixes in the month. (Maybe one a week) We could cycle through the mix group more slowly then and there would be more of a chance for people to comment on this weeks mix-du-jour. I (personally) would have more chance to listen to other people seriously and to prepare a mix that I was proud of.
There are problems with this, and obviously I'm only throwing the idea into the pot, but what do you think??
seanyboy, I kind of like that idea. Instead of being overwhelmed with mixes all at once, a kind of Mix (or Mixes) of the Week thing.
On the other hand, some of us are just gluttons, and others have particular genre biases and might want to skip some mixes... but I would be open to the idea, myself.
I love the idea of releasing them a few at a time (once you've "proven yourself" by submitting a mix). I think that also may increase the likelihood or more mixes being listened to all the way through. I'm currently overwhelmed with music -since I have all these mixes and I also haven't let up on buying new albums.
How we do future sessions: well, it's all swings and roundabouts. On the one side we have folk who can't take in all the mixes available and on the other we have folk who can't pump out mixes quickly enough.
The once a week idea would be a pain to administrate and, I suspect, not as much fun. We can reapparaise how we do things after another couple of swaps when we'll be much more aware of all the pitfalls.
Ultimately though when they're released all at once then everyone can listen to the mixes anyway they please. If you want to restrict yourself to two or three a week then you can, if you want to dump them all in a folder and play at random you can, you can do what you wish. I think people like that flexibility.
