Hi. Now go make me some coffee.

Hello.

I have coffee, should I pour it into my keyboard?

Thanks in advance for the kind advice.

There goes the neighborhood.

Bye, neighborhood.

There's a neighborhood?
posted by omiewise 15 June | 09:26
There was. Apparently. And now it's gone.

I was just watching a Happy Days rerun? Remember in the earlier episodes, Richie had an older brother named Chuck. What happened to Chuck? Was his disappearance ever explained? Maybe he died in Vietnam.

Oh, well, The Brady Buch where Bobby sees the UFO is on.
posted by jonmc 15 June | 09:32
I thought Richie went to Vietnam and when he came back he started smashing up his room and menacing people with his ginger beard but I may have dreamt it all.

Did that whole 50's revival (and it was serious, being a kid in the seventies was like being in the 50's sometimes) happen in England, dodgy? Or did you guys have greasers, even? Teddy Boys weren't quite the same from what I've seen.
posted by jonmc 15 June | 09:47
Dude, over here it wasn't a revival - nothing had changed since the Fifties.
posted by dodgygeezer 15 June | 09:53
Oddly, the 50's stuff still comes across as cool, somehow. The 80's on the other hand...what a horrible nightmare of a decade.

Is the coffee done yet?

I still wear my black chucks, too, MGL. Come to think of it, I dress more or less exactly the same way I did in the 80's. I may still have some of the same actual clothes come to think of it. Yup, there's my Billy & The Boingers t-shirt. You can read the paper through it, but it's still intact.

This is a neighborhood, not a region!

This is a burrito! A breakfast burrito!
posted by taz 15 June | 11:32
Yeah, I still have too many clothes from the 80s, it is true. Actually I went AS The Eighties for Halloween a couple years ago - wore the aforementioned black chucks, a Gunter Sax black short prom dress, ripped tights and all the badges & buttons I could dig up. And blue teased hair with those weird swoopy blush marks on my cheeks. It was hilarious.

JUMP! JUMP! Letsgoletsgoletsgoletsgo! You stay here, jonmc, we need someone who knows how to fly the plane *wink, wink*. Everybody else, on my word, GOGOGOGOGO! JUMP!

I'm paraphrasing myself when I say this*, but safetyfork is the opposite of deadly fork. There is another mefi user with spork in their nick, though.

* Chet.
posted by safetyfork 15 June | 12:01
I see your Chet and raise you Chet.

Tarrama: no problem.

*Does a little dance in his parachute pants to diffuse the awkwardness*

posted by safetyfork 15 June | 12:30
Oh, I overslept because I have no AC, amber, and I woke up at 4.20 unable to sleep, so then I stayed up reading until 5.30, by which time it had cooled off a bit. Poor, poor boy with not enough AC . . .
