Yeah...I've thought more than once in the past couple of weeks of jettisoning it off my links list. Not only are they not particularly on the money, they're a bit too irregular with their posting. In fact, I am going to flick them. It's all elsewhere, earlier.

Their willingness to update links based on reader feedback earns it a couple points in my book.

My ideal link farm is readable in lynx as is and only has things I've never seen before.

i'd stopped checking it a while ago but when i bothered again, i was wondering if it had to do with a change in posters. as long as their archives are in tact, i'm hoping the gems from a few years ago might be there for reharvesting.

I must note that boingboing is the utter fucking wonderchicken antichrist when it comes the the embarassing cashslut welter of ads and revenue-stream-of-crap on it. I actually browsed there a month or two ago rather than reading it in bloglines as is my wont, and I was FUCKING HORRIFIED BROTHERS AND SISTERZ.

So memepool gets some points there, s'truth, and the boingsters get an opportunity to pre-suck my genital situation, but you gotta take the good with the bad, I always say.

but i check sites like mefi, bb, and kottke to cut down on the amount of time i spend looking around for stuff, which may mean i don't deserve to be privy to the stuff to some, but having too many ridiculously disparate interests means i'm not always reading the full of the times or constantly scanning the new scientist--

on one hand, it's nice to be able to take something on its own, away from hype and cultural context
on another, sometimes you want to discuss things at the time everyone is all hot and hip on it

Oh, yeah, delicious rocks. I've been known to spend hours hitting reload on del.icio.us/popular every 5 minutes. I know there are sites that will do it for you, but it's one way I don't mind doing it myself.

There's more webdev stuff there than interests me, personally.

my only reticence in using delicious more is that if i were of the mind to be categorizing links and marks old and new, it's coming right after crazy filing week anyway--

in surfing off it, i keep trying to limit getting lost in the digital waves because fighting the undertoad is such a time suck--
