Melissa May is a talented singer, a much-loved mefite and metachatter, and all around a great and shining person. When she's not around, people are always going: "where's Melissa May?"

She plays in a band with her husband in Lawrence, Kansas, and she's actually more popular than people on metafilter with lower user numbers.

In IRC, Melissa May is often referred to as Melitha. This stems from a chat during which she was wearing Crest White Strips that apparently caused her to type with a lisp.
