I understand your automatic response. It always makes me instantly defensive and angry that someone like that feels they have a right to comment about my choices when they are so stupidly wrong. And the whole pandemic and political climate has emboldened them. Sigh.

Trump created so much disinformation, misinformation, distrust of truth; we're fucked for many years to come.

For 14 months we said Listen to the scientists, and now the scientists say it's okay to not wear a mask if you're vaccinated, and everybody's an epidemiologist saying they're wrong. I'm vaxxed, encourage others to do the same, hope the rest of the world gets access, and I'll wear a mask as required or requested, but not so worried about Covid now. And so tired of everybody telling everybody what to do.

anyway, better not to tackle the assholes, you'd get cooties.

I have an old friend who is now assertively anti-covidvax, and it's hard to stay civil. It's such a privileged position, people around the world and still here in the US, dying of Covid, and healthy Americans with easy, free access to the vaccine decline it. There are immune-compromised people who can't get it, or it might not work, and you could help protect them, with the tiniest of risk. I wonder what life was like after the Great Influenza.

also, this friend quoted an asshole saying "It only kills old people" and, as a geezer, I was so pissed. The Great Influenza killed a lot of young people, 20-35, and young children. Babies dying is tragic, but are geezers really so easily discarded? I feel like I have a bit more living to do.
