Have you ever felt so hot that you thought your hair was trying to run away from you? Hey guys... it's been a ...well--long would kind of be an understatement.

[More:]Almost a decade since I last roamed these hallowed halls (yeah, yeah--you guys have no idea how good you've got it in here compared to what's waiting for you out there... well, maybe I'm embellishing a tad--but you get what I'm saying, hopefully).

One of the reasons I cam back. I wanted to before, and did a couple of times but hadn't yet reached that place you need to before feeling like it's time.

Just wanted to poke my head in again, say a hello, and thank essexjan and arse_hat for their indispensable help... thanks a lot you guys!
Your welcome. And hi!

OMG YOU'RE BACK. Welcome!

There are a few touchstones of the internet that are like coming home. MeCha feels like that for me. I hoe it does for you. Don't be such a stranger.

Yes, I like this place. Quieter now than it used to be, but comfortable and safe.

I had my hair cut on Tuesday. It was so long and straggly and I'd toyed with the idea of doing what I did in the brief window last year when I was able to get it cut - which was to keep it long, but have it shaped and layered. But with summer coming, I decided to go for the chop and now it's short and so much more comfortable and easy to manage.

Spring has finally arrived - I think the frost we had at the start of the week is the last of the year. I've been busy planting today - mostly dahlia tubers - and I've ordered some courgette and runner bean seeds too, special varieties for containers.

Now I'm going to head to the kitchen to make Indian food - baigan achari (eggplant cooked in the pickling style), dal tadka (lentils tempered with a spicy oil), cauiflower pakora (fritters) and I'll have it with rice and paratha (flatbread). There'll be enough to share with my good friend down the street, and for at least another two or three meals.

I enjoyed my afternoon's cooking. I followed the recipes and it turned out just great.

Holy fuck... your pakoras are just begging to be devoured--my god, that looks so mouth-watering-ly good!

Not even going to dare clicking on the picture and risk going into cardiac arrest, after seeing it staring at me in 70 mm. That too right at the time of seheri (and all I have is some left-over chicken in the micro-wave).

Ps. the Baigan looks fantastic, but, unfortunately, have always been a Daal-lover at heart. (:

Hey Doo, arsey... come on--I think I've earned the right to call you that after having you guys imprinted on my cerebrum for the past 15 years almost!

You wanna be talking about touch-stones, hickie? Man, those days of yore when you guys would all pile up in a coffee-shop at ny, or somewhere else in Fran, and post your shout-outs (still have my first one ever saved up!(:)... jeez--those were the good ol' days. Heck, and I wasn't even there to witness 'em! Well, not in the flesh at least. And *that*--is what this place will always be for me... Mecha/Mefi.

Our etch-marks in the stones of Intrawed-history.

Oh nice! You're back. Very happy to hear from you.

Senyar's cooking always looks devine. Stick around and enjoy the metacat friends.

In the words of Austin Powers... meeeeoowww! (hey--you said Metacat) :p

Yup, Senyar's cooking looks like it's from another planet all together. In fact, when the martians do end up calling on us to find out why we're considering invading their planet (did you guys see the Mars copter--what was it... ingenuity, take off last week? Man, who would've ever thought, not only might we be landing on another planet, but we'd be sending our drones, men and women too), we should send Senyar and her dishes as a sign of "we come in peace; please don't kill us".

And how could they, being stuffed with her dishes, we'd be home free!

Hi Hadjiboy; nice to see you back; I wondered what/where had happened to you.

Yah; short hair is a bit less hot.

Hahaha, hey buzzman--nice to meet you again after so long... yeah, had some shit to take care of. I was actually under the impression that you guys would've sighed a breath of relief having gotten rid of me, lol.

You know, you all have a very special place here, with special people who care and share their stories-feelings-opinions. You shouldn't let it go man.

Ps. I stopped going in for a hair-cut after having gotten dumped. She loved the fact that I had curly-wavy hair. Never did grow it out this long though, but just wanted to see how much I could get away with. Let's see!
