Happy holidays. (I hope) I hope you are finding some joy as the year rolls toward an end with a big helping of pandemic. [More:] I sat down for an hour or so and I think I have enough Christmas music to share with you over this month.

But to start off here are a couple of pandemic productions. People making music while staying home. Not Christmas songs but songs that will likely make you smile.

The first is just fun and very well done. Roxy Roller with Cherie Currie, Suzi Quatro, Nick Gilder and more. Cherie is 60 and Nick is 68.

This is Alanis Morissette on the Tonight show singing from home. So sweet you'll pee maple syrup.

Finally here is 97 minutes of joy or pain. The Star Wars Holiday Special in cleaned up better quality video.
Oh, man, that Alanis piece was so lovely. Thanks for sharing it.

I love the Roxy Roller. You forgot to mention, Suzi Quatro is 70 years old. I was never much of a fan of hers in her heyday - I was in my early teens when she had her big UK hits. I thought she was too 'manufactured' and I hated the songs. But I've seen her on a few shows since and she has a great personality and a huge voice. She's also a great radio DJ.

The Alanis song was lovely. Just what I needed. I was told yesterday that after 20 years' service I, along with about 700 other colleagues, will be made redundant next Spring. So not much joy to be found although I am trying to put it out of my mind until New Year.

All I really know about Suzi Quatro is that she was on Happy Days for a bit. Despite the fact that she grew up right near here her music never really got played here.

So sorry to hear that Senyar. You made it through so many cuts and changes. Damn. Hugs.

Yeah, it sucks. They're replacing permanent staff with zero-hours contractors so they don't have to pay benefits, pension contributions or holiday pay. It's the standard business model in the UK now, unfortunately.

Becoming the standard everywhere it seems.
