Update on the cats. or GYOBFW! I have built two wood houses and another plastic one to go with the existing plastic one. The wood ones are a bit larger and could accommodate more than one cat on cold nights. →[More:]

This will give the cats a choice of space and room for really cold times. I bought a bale of straw for the shelters.

I left a deposit with the local SPCA and got a trap. I had hoped to start trapping tonight.

I have a cat in the trap but I did not trap it.

A very pregnant black and white female showed up. She is clearly not feral and she was very hungry. I fed her and escorted her into the trap. We will have to take her into the SPCA tomorrow.

She is very nice. I hate irresponsible pet owners.

Got Ginger fixed today and he is resting in the trap out in the porch. Just 3 more to go.

The new houses should be in place late Saturday or Sunday.

Lovely to hear these updates. The pregnant kitty must have heard from the neighbourhood cats where she could find some comfort and care. Poor little girl. Some people shouldn't be allowed to keep animals.

I'm missing having a cat in the house. I'm going away for a week next month, and when I get back, I'll give some thought to getting another.

What I found really interesting is that the report I got back estimates his age at 3-4 years old. I would have thought Ginger was just over a year because he is full grown but still kind of young goofy.
